چکیده
A two-month old male infant initially presented with cutaneous candidiasis. He is the second child of nonconsanguineous healthy parents whose first born is a bright six year old school girl. This boy was born at term following an uncomplicated antenatal period with a birth weight of 2.9 kg. He was exclusively breast fed for six months. Initial tests for immunodeficiency including full blood count, HIV screening, CD 3,4,8,19,16 subsets, serum IgG, IgM and IgA levels were normal. IgE levels were not assessed due to non-availability of facilities.

Carcinoma of the oesophagus associated with membrano-proliferative glomerulonephritis.
Nephrotic syndrome has been observed in association with different types of neoplasia. This appears to be the first report of the occurrence of the nephrotic syndrome due to membrano proliferative glomerulonephritis in association with carcinoma of the oesophagus. Although proteinuria was present before excision of the tumour, the nephrotic phase occurred subsequently. Eventually it disappeared...
متن کاملNephrotic-range proteinuria on interferon-β treatment: immune-induced glomerulonephritis or other pathway?
We present a case report of a 37-year-old woman with multiple sclerosis (MS) who developed nephrotic-range proteinuria secondary to membrano proliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN)-like disease with mesangial C3 deposition without evidence of immune-complex deposition in the context of long-term interferon-β (IFN-β) therapy. The complete remission of proteinuria following cessation of IFN-β, st...

متن کاملRenal vein thrombosis in nephrotic syndrome-a prospective study
The incidence of renal vein thrombosis (RVT) and other thrombo-embolic phenomena was evaluated in 44 unselected patients with nephrotic syndrome. Renal vein thrombosis was demonstrated by selective renal venography in 10 patients and at post-mortem in one. Extension of the thrombus from the renal veins into the inferior vena cava was seen in 3 patients. Evidence of thrombo-embolism elsewhere in...
